By the sea
A deck facing the Atlantic needs looking after
Salt, sun and wind turn a deck grey faster here than inland. We lay decks and come back to keep them: wash, sand, oil.

Wash
Machine cleaning lifts the grey, the salt and the grime from the boards.
- Step02
Sand
Where the surface is rough or split, the boards are sanded back to sound wood.
- Step03
Oil
A fresh coat of oil feeds the wood and brings the colour back.
How often depends on the wood and how exposed the deck is. We tell you after seeing it.

A wood floor shop on Rua Tomaz Ribeiro
Preldeck was founded in 2009 in Matosinhos. Our office and our showroom are the same door: number 165 of Rua Tomaz Ribeiro, in the centre of town, a few streets from the beach.
We work in floor and wall coverings. We supply and lay wood floors, lay and maintain decks, fit floating floors in laminate and wood veneer, recover old floors with sanding and varnishing, and also do vinyl and wallpaper.
At the showroom you see the floors next to each other before choosing, and you can take home Bona products to keep the wood clean.

Questions
Before you call
Yes. Call us or come to the showroom; we quote in writing after we see and measure the space.
It depends on how exposed the deck is and on your budget: dense hardwoods and treated woods age differently in salt air. We advise on site.
Often, yes. Sanding takes off the worn top layer and a new varnish goes on. We first check how much wood is left to sand.
Solid wood can be sanded again and again over the years. A floating floor, in laminate or wood veneer, is quicker to lay over the floor you already have.

Yes, both. Vinyl suits kitchens and bathrooms; wallpaper finishes the room.
